Yemen Turkusu, though nominally about the late 19th century Yemen rebellion, has come to embody the memory of Ottoman soldiers dying in the Hicaz during World War I. This version of the song, from Eve Giden Yol, shows how easily a seemingly anti-war song can be appropriated for bayoneting a British soldier with the Turkish flag.
