Hillary traveled to Ecuador to intern as an English-as-a-Foreign-Language assistant.  While abroad, she gained teaching and classroom experience, as well as invaluable opportunities to work as a translator.

One trip took Hillary deep into the rainforest, where she was able to see an in-progress museum, which was planned in order to educate people on all the different ethnic groups in the rainforest. "They still need a lot of help in order to complete the project, and I am hoping that I will be able to help them in some way."
"I will always hold on to the love that I have for the Kichwa people. I will also always be thankful that I have had such a blessed life."

Hillary has served as the president of the Spanish and Latino Student Association.
