France is located in Europe. I would take by plane because you have such a great time you would love to control how long you stay. Also you can't travel over seas driving a car... In the future there might be boat cars but for now I would stick to planes.
Probably normal weather but a little more moderate if you were comparing to Michigan. But I would say a little bit colder in the summer. Also a little warmer in the winter. So I would bring warm or cold clothes depending on the season. (Little tip, a good time to go is spring, says the book.)
