1: Music In LA

This great city has something to satisfy every musical taste whether it’s indie, jazz fusion, country, classical, blues, lounge, electronica, etc, etc. You can hit up a major concert or catch a local favorite at a pub down the street. Some calendars to consult to find all the happenings are LA Weekly and Earbits Guide to LA Music (has links to some of the bigger venues).

4: Marvin Braude Bike Path

"Like to bike but think LA is not cyclist friendly? Think again: grab your cruiser or road bike and ride along the South Bay trail from Santa Monica to Palos Verdes." The Marvin Braude Bike Trail is a paved bicycle path that runs mostly along the Pacific Ocean shoreline in Los Angeles County, California. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_Braude_Bike_Trail

The Getty Center in Los Angeles and the Getty Villa in Malibu (http://www.getty.edu/museum/) are museums that are a must-see. With free admission, the museums provide visitors to timeless exhibitions. The Getty Center showcases European and American art while the Getty Villa features pieces from ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria. Although admission is free, consult the website for ticket and parking information ahead of time.

6: EAST WEST PLAYERS

"See a play at East West Players (Little Tokyo downtown Los Angeles-- 120 Judge John Aiso St. www.eastwestplayers.org) —the nation’s longest running theater of color and the largest producer of Asian American artistic work. Each performance has a “pay-what-you-can” night. I’m on the Board of Directors. There is a convenient new public parking structure across the theater ($3 all night after 6pm). Try Daikokuya Ramen in Little Tokyo on 327 E 1st street just around the corner from East West Players. It’s a popular restaurant so be prepared to stand in line (no reservations, no takeout)"
