Great (Very) Small Pub.

1: McDaid's

One of my favorites...Joyce used to hang out here apparently. A former Jewish Mortuary.

Más sobre McDaid's

2: Old Jameson Distillery

Tour of an old Distillery and Whiskey tasting at the end of the our.

Más sobre Old Jameson Distillery

3: Heuston Station

Trains going West (and some North and South) go out of here.

Más sobre Heuston Station

4: Kilmainham Gaol (Jail)

Neat old prison...where the leaders of the 1916 Uprising met their end.

Más sobre Kilmainham Gaol (Jail)

5: The Brazen Pub

Purportedly the oldest pub in Ireland.

Más sobre The Brazen Pub

6: St. Patrick's Cathedral

Jonathan Swift buried here.

Más sobre St. Patrick's Cathedral

7: The Clarence Hotel

Hotel owned by Bono and The Edge of U2. The hotel bar has always had one of the most expensive pints in the country, and I also thought that it also had some of the nicest public bathrooms in the country as well.

Más sobre The Clarence Hotel

8: Guinness

Take your Guinness tour here...not a brewery tour, but more of a museum. The Gravity Bar at the top where you get your end of tour pint has a great 360 view of Dublin. Makes the admission fee worth it.

Más sobre Guinness

9: St. James Gate

Famous entry to the actual Guinness Brewery. Go to the storehouse for your actual tour.

Más sobre St. James Gate

10: Irish Film Centre

One of my favorite places in Dublin and a great place to get a cup of coffee (or pint), particularly during the day.

Más sobre Irish Film Centre

11: Pravda

Trendy pub with a cool Communist/Soviet type theme.

Más sobre Pravda

12: Moore Street Open Air Market

Más sobre Moore Street Open Air Market

13: Government Post Office

The GPO is the sight of the 1916 Uprising. You can still see where British bullets took out chunks of stone from the facade.

Más sobre Government Post Office

14: The Stupid Millennial Spire

The spire was built as a symbol of Ireland's recent prosperity. Of course it looks like a needle and is located on a street that 20 years ago was known for the selling of heroin...its very safe now, btw.

Más sobre The Stupid Millennial Spire

15: Messrs Maguire

One of the few brewpubs in Dublin. A place you can get a decent carvery lunch.

Más sobre Messrs Maguire

16: Temple Bar

Very Touristy part of town. Many pubs/restaurants. Very busy and loud at night.

Más sobre Temple Bar

17: The Stag's Head

A great, dodgy little pub

Más sobre The Stag's Head

18: The Banker's

Not a Top Ten pub, but a pub I always had an affinity for...a good place for an afternoon pint.

Más sobre The Banker's

19: Dublin Tourism Office

When in doubt ask questions here.

Más sobre Dublin Tourism Office

Más sobre Grafton Street

26: Trinity College Dublin

Come here to see the Book of Kells (and see what amazing things can be done with squished bugs).

Más sobre Trinity College Dublin

27: National Gallery of Ireland

Obviously, not one of Europe's best art museums, but there is a cool Vermeer there.

Más sobre National Gallery of Ireland

28: Merrion Square

One of my favorite public spaces in Dublin

Más sobre Merrion Square

29: Doheny & Nesbitt

Pub where all the politicians come and cook up schemes that will leave the country in bits. Neat woodwork in a cool traditional pub.

Más sobre Doheny & Nesbitt

30: Kehoe's Pub

Pub that used to be someone's house.

Más sobre Kehoe's Pub

31: Bookstores

If you are looking for a bookstore, this is the area.

Más sobre Bookstores

32: The Iveagh (Ivy) Gardens

Another one of my favorite public spaces, and kind of hidden.

Más sobre The Iveagh (Ivy) Gardens

33: The Bleeding Horse

Mention in one of Joyce's novels...Ulysses maybe?

Más sobre The Bleeding Horse

34: Uppercross House Hotel

A good hotel to stay in. I stayed here when I did my dissertation research. Nice rooms, breakfast in the morning and about a 20 minute walk into town. Also a bus route not far away.

Más sobre Uppercross House Hotel

35: Patrick Kavanagh Statue

Nice old Irish Author sitting on a bench. I say next to him many times when I was waiting to talk to someone at one of the Irish Development agencies which is over on Wilton Place.

Más sobre Patrick Kavanagh Statue

36: US Embassy

If you lose your passport or get arrested this is the place you want to know.

Más sobre US Embassy

Más sobre Dun Laoghaire

Very rich people live in Dalkey

Más sobre Dalkey

Más sobre Bray

The last stop at the North end of the DART. Get yourself some fish and chips in Howth and go out to the breakwater and eat it on a nice sunny day.You can also do somme walking around Howth Head.

Más sobre Howth

Ancient Mounds constructed before the Pyramids. Pretty cool. Tours available through the Dublin Tourism Office

Más sobre Newgrange

Nice glacial valley. One of the few places you will find a forest in Ireland.

Más sobre Glendalough

43: Dublin Airport

You can cab and it will cost about 40 or 50 Euro to get into town. Alternatively, you can get the bus and it will cost 8 to 10 Euro.

Más sobre Dublin Airport

44: Connolly Station

For trains going North to Belfast or Northwest to Sligo or directly south to Wexford. Also you can catch the DART (Light rail/Commuter Rail) and the LUAS (street rail) here.

Más sobre Connolly Station

45: Bewley's

A place I would routinely drink coffee and read the newspaper during the course of my dissertation research.

Más sobre Bewley's

46: The Duke

The Duke and Davy Byrne's (just downthe street) are part of the literary pub crawl. I prefer the Duke to Davy Byrnes, but generally like them both.
