Meet here and depart from this point via our mini bus. From here you are taken to the entrance of the Below the Surface tunnel. At the entrance is where you will receive your gumboots, headlamp and briefing

Exiting in the Castle grounds on the bank of the moat. We serve chilled drinks and a snacks on the lawn under the shade of a giant tree with a stunning view of the Mountain.

Decending into the what use to be an open river flowing to the Castle we explore what lay hidden from the world above.

A huge cry for water lost to the ocean is heard on every walk we take "Why dont we use this water?" I hear the cry question.

6: Oldest section

At this point in your walk you will pass through what is the oldest section of the tunnel. The tunnel becomes oval at this point and is constructed using black slate similar to that used for the walls of the castle

7: Passing under Roeland street

Passing under Roeland street we will hear and see through the man hole lid the traffic passing overhead. The sounds created add a mysterious element to our walk.

Looking up through the man hole lid the bridge will be visible to us as we pass under ground.
