1: Bukit Belimbing Fireflies park

Firefly Park Resort Bukit Belimbing in Kuala Selangor, Malaysia. Is the only place in this region where you can witness the sight of millions of fireflies flashing in synchrony, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”. It is one of the must visit place of interest (POI) in Malaysia. You will be taken on a boat ride along the Selangor River where the fireflies inhibit around the branches of the “Berembang” trees along the riverbank. Here, up to thousands of fireflies may group together on a tree, beginning their display about one hour after sunset. A really bright display lasts for about two to three hours, continuing at lower levels until dawn.

Located in the Gombak Forest Reserve, Sg. Pisang Waterfall is a recommended spot to get a varied experience of outdoor activities. To get to the waterfall, one needs to river trek for about 45 minutes. The trek itself is a great experience as you’ll be surrounded by the beautiful nature.

Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary is home to 161 species of birds, both migratory and resident birds. September to March is the best time for bird-watching. Other wildlife such as smooth otter, dusky leaf monkey and long-tailed macaque dwell here as well. You might even spot a ridge-back dolphin while boating here. After dusk, plenty of fireflies will light your way home.
