1: Ice control structure next to the Champlain Bridge

The ice-control structure (also known as the ice bridge) was built to break up ice. It features a bike path.

2: From ice bridge, option 1

From the Champlain ice bridge, cyclists can turn north and head for the link over the St. Lawrence Seaway at the Victoria Bridge.

No bikes allowed on the bridge, though a small portion between St. Lambert and St. Lawrence Seaway dike features a bike path.

No bikes allowed at the moment ... but a path will be added once a new, wider deck is installed.

Ottawa has said the federal side of the bridge will get a new deck by 2014.

It’s unclear when the provincial side will be done because Quebec has delayed its planned work.

Bikes allowed on trains during off-peak periods on the Candiac commuter line operated by the Agence métropolitaine de transport. The train uses a CP train bridge next to the Mercier. More info here.
