People travelling during the Easter bank holiday weekend will benefit from over 98 per cent of England’s motorways and major A roads being free of roadworks. The Highways Agency will be clearing nine out of ten sets of roadworks to help people on their way over the bank holiday weekend. More than 600 miles of roadworks are being completed and a further 90 miles suspended between Thursday 28 March and Tuesday 2 April.In all, 228 sets of roadworks have been completed ahead of the Easter holiday period. A further 34 sets of roadworks and lane restrictions have been removed from midnight on Wednesday 27 March and will not be put back before 06:00 on Tuesday 2 April. Lane restrictions or temporary speed limits need to remain in place at these 26 locations for the safety of drivers and their passengers.
