0: Joseph Brant Museum

The Joseph Brant Museum is a reconstruction of the home of one of Canada’s colourful heroes, Captain Joseph Brant (Thayendanegea), a prominent Mohawk leader and Loyalist. The house was built in 1937-38 and in June 1942 opened as a museum with only one room of gallery space. Today, the building houses more than 10,000 artifacts. Activities include: self-guided tours, pamphlets, children's activities.
Joseph Brant Museum celebrated its 70th Anniversary in 2012.

1: Burlington Art Centre

A focal point on the Burlington waterfront since 1978, the Burlington Art Centre, designed by architect John Harkness, houses the world's largest permanent collection of contemporary Canadian ceramics, provides gallery and studio space, and features a courtyard and conservatory.

2: St. Luke's Anglican Church

Completed in 1834 and consecrated in 1838, St. Luke's is Burlington's oldest church. It sits on part of the land granted to Chief Joseph Brant (Thayendanegea) by the Crown for services he rendered during the American Revolution. Brant's daughter, Elizabeth, donated the land for the church. View the many stained-glass windows, beautiful carvings and historic cemetery.

3: Masonic Lodge

463 Brant St Burlington, ON L7R 2G3

The original building, constructed between 1850 and 1853, house James Allen's carriage-making business, which produced many of the horse carts and sleighs for the Hamilton Street Railway. The Masons purchased the building in 1909 and expanded it in 1953-54. The lodge room and banquet room are on the second floor; the first floor is rented for commercial purposes.

4: Gingerbread House Garden

This grand two-and-a-half-storey frame structure was built in Queen Anne Revival Style in 1893 by Alfred B.Y. Coleman, general contractor and lumber dealer. Coleman built several buildings in Burlington, including the Brant Hotel. The property boasts a Victorian garden with magnolia tree and fountain. Activities include: self guided tours of gardens.

5: Lowville School House

This one-room schoolhouse was built in 1889 from local fieldstone and sand on land donated by Joseph Featherstone.  The woodshed is part of the original structure.  Separate boys' and girls' entrances are located, unusually, on the four-bay sides.  The windows retain their six-over-six panes and some original shutters. Heritage designation granted 1992.

7: Lowville United Church

Built in 1872 on lands provided by Thomas Colling, Lowville United Church has a fieldstone foundation made from orange bricks from the Bronte area. The structure is a fine example of mid-Victorian vernacular Gothic revival church architecture, featuring lancet windows with corbelled brick "eyebrow" detail and dressed limestone sills. Heritage designation granted 1984.

8: St. John's Anglican Church

St. John's is the second-oldest Anglican church in Burlington. Worship has taken place in the present building since 1839. This unique church has two stained-glass windows and a restored burying ground with grave makers as old as the church itself.

9: Nelson United Church

This one-storey fieldstone church was built in 1859 in the neoclassical meeting house style. The Springer family (for which nearby Springer House is named) donated the land for the cemetery, one of the oldest in the former Nelson Township. In 1959, the Sunday school addition was built to accommodate the expanding congregation. Activities include: self-guided tours ofchurch and cemetery.
