The Highways Agency is helping people travelling during this year’s festive holiday period, with more than 250 miles of roadworks on England’s motorways and major A roads completed. A further 57 miles have been suspended from 21 December 2012 until 2 January 2013.In all, 164 sets of roadworks have been completed ahead of the Christmas and New Year holiday period. A further 21 sets of roadworks and lane restrictions have been removed from 06:00 on Friday 21 December and will not be put back before 00:01 on Wednesday 2 January.
