Thursday, 10:20pm: an MIT campus police officer was found shot in his vehicle in the area of Vassar and Main streets. According to authorities, the officer was found evidencing multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and pronounced deceased.

Moments later, police received reports of an armed carjacking by two males in the area of Third Street in Cambridge. The victim was carjacked at gunpoint by two males and was kept in the car with the suspects for approximately a half hour. The victim was released at a gas station on Memorial Drive in Cambridge. He was not injured.

NORWALK - An Amtrak train was stopped near the East Norwalk station.
The Stamford bomb squad was called in.
Norwalk police say the train was from Boston.
Officials were looking for someone that may have been on the train.
That person was not on an the train is now on its way.

Update 9:34 A.M.: In a possibly unrelated incident, WGRZ is reporting two Russian nationals were arrested near Niagra Falls. Inside the car there were four suspicious backpacks and a bomb squad has been called in. The FBI know about situation in Niagara Falls.
