Heritage Woods of Freeport is your choice for affordable assisted living in Stephenson County, Illinois.

Heritage Woods is being developed through a partnership between BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois, and the Stephenson County Nursing Center Foundation and will serve adults 65 and older who need some help to maintain their independence.

The community is being constructed on more than five acres of property on the southwest corner of West Pearl City Rd. and south Forest Rd. in Freeport, Illinois, and is scheduled to open for occupancy this summer.

Located in north central Illinois about 25 miles west of Rockford, Freeport serves as the county seat for Stephenson County and is known as “Pretzel City, USA.”

The Villas at Heritage Woods of Centralia is a neighborhood of duplex homes designed for low income older adults who are at least 55 years of age.

Each of the one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans offers single-level living so there are no stairs. Features include 36” doorways and levered door handles rather than door knobs. The full kitchen includes an electric range with easy-to-read front-mounted controls. Maintenance, landscaping and snow removal services are included.

A Community Center and gardening areas are available for residents to enjoy.

In addition, residents of the Villa homes have priority access to theAffordable Assisted Lifestyle Community located on the campus, should the need arise. Residents of the homes are welcome to participate in the social, recreational, and educational activities available for residents of the senior living and assisted lifestyle apartments. For an additional charge, they can take advantage of meal and beauty/barber services.
