Llevar sombrero, prismáticos y bañador... una gozada, para hacer a pie, en bici,...existen pasarelas de madera para observar la ría de cerca, su flora, fauna,... la vuelta puede hacerse por la playa. The Alvor River (or Ria de Alvor) is a smalll Portuguese river, the result of the confluence of 4 water courses with origin on the south side of the Monchique mountains: The ribeira (creek)do Farelo and the ribeira da Torre (on the east side) and the ribeira de Odiáxere and the ribeira do Arão (on the west side). From there the river enlarges and makes a natural border between the Parishes of Odiáxere (Lagos Municipality), Mexilhoeira Grande and Alvor (Portimão Municipality). The Ria de Alvor is recognized as a place of Comunitary significance. It includes the gray dunes, beaches and estuaries, agricultural land, semi-natural woods, pine forests and salt marshes, and host species and habitats of Community interest, as the Habitats Directive.
