12th Ave To Estuary East

Park your vehicle at the Seaside cinema parking lot. You can make your way down the the river at the West end of 12th Ave bridge by the outlet mall. I started this 2 hours before low tide. The river part was no problem but as you get closer to the estuary tidal influences and wind become a factor. Depending on the tide (if you are against it) progress can be hard work. Please make sure you are wearing a Personal Flotation Device (PFD). Banks are steep in some places on the river and the current flows faster on the outside banks. Winds and tides can also have an effect especially in the estuary. As the estuary is continually changing the river course may have changed since the last satellite photo.
