Lots of night life here - bars, restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, etc.

In Ireland, TV cameras are not allowed inside the courts, but thankfully the "Four Courts" are housed in a very beautiful building, that is well worth a look.

Nice city-centre park. If it is sunny, this is a lovely place to walk through. If you are made a free man/woman of Dublin (i.e. if you are Nelson Mandela or Bono or somebody like that), then you have the right to graze your sheep on this green. Otherwise, don't go grazing your sheep on the green.

Museum and interpretive centre built by Guinness showing the process of making Guinness, its history and at the top is a 360-degree view of Dublin and a complementary pint of Guinness.

This beautiful cathedral was the site where Handel's Messiah was first performed. Lovely architecture.

Iconic Dublin foot bridge. The toll was half a penny to cross on foot. There is no longer any toll.

The national gallery of Ireland houses the most important Irish paintings. Most of these are owned by the state, though many are also on loan. Free admission and a really good way to spend a day.

This is the house of parliament in Ireland. It was originally a private house, owned by the Dukes of Leinster. These days it is a complex of buildings, but the original Ducal House houses the chamber where the government sits.

Very nice museum of old Irish literature. Well worth a visit.

Large comfortable pub in a very central location on O'Connell St. Bridge - probably a good place for conference people to meet.

Micro-brewery, famous for its Stouts, which are a nice alternative to Guinness.

Owned by Bono and The Edge and famous for its reeeeeealy expensive food and drink.

The focus of British Rule in Ireland until independence in 1921. More recently, the location of a slew of tribunals where former politicians have been asked to account for mysterious deposits into their bank accounts while in office...

The food here can be described in two words - nom nom.

Nice bar - no music whatsoever!!! Food is a bit meh. Go to one of the lovely restaurants nearby for food.

Nice loud bar with lovely cocktails. Perfect for the bright young things.

Tapas-style food in a pretty unique setting - downstairs in a windowless, stone dungeon. Sounds bad, but is actually really good.

Super literary pub, full of paintings and drawings of famous Irish literary people. Really worth a visit for the decor alone.

Iconic Dublin restaurant with famous facade and stained-glass windows that are protected by law. These days it houses an inexpensive pizza/pasta restaurant of good quality and reasonable prices.

Very typical Dublin pub with a statue of "Thin Lizzy" lead singer Phil Lynott outside. Bit of a must-see for rock music fans.
