Warren: In Linkwood Dr near the retirement home.
Daniel: Angry magpie and aggressive towards cyclists, loves a good sprint.
Anna: Swooped a couple of times while walking past.
John: There is a family of magpies roosting in a park at the corner of Redgrave St, Lanchester St, and Flockton St Stafford Heights.
I have lived here for more than 10 years and have never seen them attack a pedestrian.
They will have a go at people (usually children) on push bikes because an idiot child on a push bike belted them with a stick several years ago.
There are a lot of people who ride bikes to the dog park in Lanchester Steet. I suggest bike riders dismount and walk the bike passed the park around this time of year. That said, if they are wearing a helmet they are not likely to come to harm if attacked.
Cameron: Near intersection of Ulric St, but back up hill crest towards NJC Nudgee Junior College / Riverglen.
Shane: Extremely aggressive magpie in the middle of Allan rd Bellmere (above the horse paddock), this magpie is super sneaky and has even hit me 2 streets later away from nesting area.
Jason:Corner of Bowen st and Lutwyche Rd Windsor. He is aggressive and comes in under the helmet !
Scott: Follows and repeatedly swoops for two blocks. Starting at The corner of Bute St and Kitchener St, following up Kitchener St past Lockwood, right up to Junction St. Swooping from behind.
Michelle: A friend and I were at the Hidden World Park at Fitzgibbon when one of our children was faced with a very angry magpie who tried to "swoop" him. This was in the play area itself. I noticed a nest with a magpie in it in a large gum tree directly behind the playground. Parents need to beware during Magpie season.
Gloria: My postie husband has been attackedby magpie in 2404 Logan Road, Eight Mile Plains
Alice: We have had a magpie attacking since about June till now he has not drew blood until the 23 / 08 / 2011. The young girl was heading out her gate to go to school and the magpie named pete swooped down and got her on the head and drew blood. We know that thier breeding season is here soon. I have been out there when he has been swooping and the people and some school kids throw sticks and stone at them. The young girl next door did not do anything but walk out her gate. The wildlife people need to do something about the magpies.
Janine: Magpies are swooping very bad. They are swooping at faces not just heads. At the end of Mareli St (Merino St end)
Tarsha: Magpie swopped didn’t get close enough to attacked – I put my umbrella up after that and had no problems.
Stafford Road – Between Airport Link Controls building and Gympie Road.
Kaye: There is a magpie swooping along the footpath on Bellmere Road, Bellmere (across from the corner of Bishop Lane). He likes to get people on bikes.
Ken: Got attacked by magpie riding along Sheridan Crescent just off Shailer Rd, Logan. Got wacked 3 times ..not nice!
Michelle: I got swooped (and hit in the helmet) while out riding on Sunday on Kelvin Grove Road, Kelvin Grove. The first times were on the way in to the city between Banbridge roads and Moy Street, I got swooped numerous times and hit 3 times. It was pretty persistent and followed me all the way up the street.
On the way home it swooped twice (and hit), same area, but on the outbound side of Kelvin Grove. I was travelling pretty fast so thought it would ignore me but it was pretty keen.
Niall: Magpie will swoop repeatedly on cyclists riding up hill between Herston Rd & Lorimer Terrace. When cycling down hill the magpie will swoop at speed (got me at 60kmh last Wednesday afternoon) and almost clawed my sunglasses from my face. The magpie often sits high on the traffic light poles at Lorimer Terrace looking for victims.
Steve: While cycling up the hill a single bird swooped me 4 times, hitting me twice. Don't have a street number, and I'm not going back there to get it either. Bayview Tce (on the north side of Hamilton Rd)
Thom: I was swooped on Sir William Macgregor Drive, near the UQ tennis courts. It gave up pretty quickly though.
Markus: The dive-bombing birds are on their job already. They always attack from behind... I hear them hit the peak of my cap.
Jamie: Very aggressive big magpie, attacked cyclists (me), walkers and their dogs, and runners. Worst i've ever seen it doesn't seem to rest just keeps coming back for more it swoops, pecks and claws at you till you reach bus stop at moreton st. From near Claremont Park to Moreton St area along Brays Rd.
Richard: Caught me both outbound Sunday morning at 9.30am, then as I was riding back to Moorooka, inbound at 1.30pm. Knew he/she was going to be there. Followed me for approx 100mtrs. Beaudesert Road, Rocklea at the Plaka Café.
Richard: was riding in Madsen Street, Grovely, was hit twice near Westside Soccer Club.. PS, The Zip ties didn't work this time !!! No damage, however, should always wear sunnies..
Tony: Attacked while waiting on the bus stop. There is a park behind the bus stop with a lot of tall trees.
David: Riding to work, I was initially attacked during the first week of August. Same as last year which lasted until 2nd week of December. Does not attack people walking or playing in the park. Only attacks cyclists, and usually follows me up my driveway. Wearing a hood, e.g. hoodie over my helmet does help but it is getting a bit warm for a jacket lately.
Richardy: Magpie swooped at me when jogging
Lorraine: swooped 3 times on Kentia, another day 2 times walking the dog.
Lorraine: Swooped once on Acorn.
Alan: Single magpie attack. Swooped on a lady walking along the footpath.
Lyn: He's Baaack!! Griffith Road, right near the Newport Isles roundabout, I saw him attacking a hapless cyclist. This maggie is particularly aggressive and it's a very busy road, so watch out! This location has previously been marked on both the 2009 and 2010 Magpie Maps.
Meg: Extremely aggressive bird.
Ian: From the big roundabout (cnr Maple and Myall st) to the railway road bridge (Elm St). Cyclists need to be aware of this one as it chases you over the bridge
Ian: Corner Mary River Road and Jarrah St, Cooroy
Conrad: Attacked my opponent. 16 hole Woodford Golf course.
Pamela: I was swooped at the top of Victoria St, just at the doctors surgery and the magpie actually hit my head.
Nicholas: Riding down hill, swooped, hit helmet twice, then bit ear. Fernberg Road between Guthrie Street and Heussler Tce.
Marcus: Swooped by magpie going to and returning from Woolworths.
David: This Maggie chased me (I was on a bike) from the roundabout on Petrie Crescent all the way around the block back to Starlight Place. Entering Starlight Place from Albany Creek Rd.
Dave: Sitting in morning traffic, I saw an old woman on her mobility scooter being swooped on the footpath. Pity those things don't go very fast, she just had to soldier on until it gave up!
Glen: Just swoops, has about three goes as you ride past.
Dillon: Diligent little bugger tries 2 or 3 times, mostly mornings for me. Beatty Road, Archerfield, between Boundary Rd and Barton St.
Jo:Oxley Avenue, Clontarf between Annie Street and Georgina Street.
Yvonne: I wish to report an active magpie area where I was hit yesterday afternoon, quite violently.Murri Way, Fortitude Valley, just outside the Harvey Norman centre. The magpie appeared to come off the roof of the Harvey Norman centre. I didn't hear it coming. It drew blood on my cheekbone. Another inch higher and it would have been my eye.
Alison: This Maggie has been here for a few years now, but has remained on Esher Rd between the freeway overpass and Birdwood Rd. Now he is swooping walkers on Birdwood as well between Hamel Rd and through to the first house on the other side of the creek. Comes from behind, but with more attitude this year.
Sam: I was swooped by a magpie on 15/09 about 8.20am after I parked my car in the street. The magpie swooped me once, brushing past my face, and then kept a close eye on me as I quickly made my way across Rode Rd. Thankfully it didn’t chase me across the busy road. I’ve parked in that street for a few weeks and this is the first time I’ve been attacked.
Peeter: I was swooped near the corner of Tora and Worrell Streets Macgregor while doing my regular morning ride. This is the section where you leave the bike path for a short section to travel along Worrell Street.
Ken: While riding on my pushbike a magpie harassed me down Levitt Road for about 200m.
Trudie: Magpie swooping pedestrians and cyclists on the opposite side of Samford Rd. There is a pedestrian footpath along the eastern side of Samford Road starting at the intersection of Samford Rd/Upper Kedron Rd and travelling through to the intersection of Samford/Tramway St. About half way along this pathway is where the magpies seem most active.
Geoff: The ‘Crowther Street Bomber’ is back … Crowther St, West End between Victoria St and Harriet St; particularly aggressive to cyclists and will follow down Harriet St at least as far as Edgar St.
John: Cyclist attack. Corner Wacol Station Rd & Wilruna St (in front of rail station)
John: Cyclist attack. Corner Augusta Parkway & Forester Ave, Brookwater.
Sally: Swooped by magpie on my bike.
In-between St Lucia athletics field and the tennis courts. The magpie swoops you for about 200metres at least 4 times ( and I was cycling my heart out).
Julie: Just passed Victoria park and yorks hollow. Riding at 0600, magpie swooped from the front as I rode over the overpass.
Tim:I've been attacked on two different days while cycling eastwards on Sherwood Rd from Dewar Tce.
Kim: just down from intersection with Kaloma Road, and opposite T intersection with Chaprowe St. Loves cyclists.

Allan: Very aggressive bird ranging from the corner of Scottsdale Dr & Robina Town Centre Drive Robina to area surrounding the Kmart carpark on the eastern side of the Robina Town Centre. This bird also only appears to be interested in cyclists and can be seen perched on buildings around the carpark and in the carpark itself, it normally attacks the side of the left side of the face and ear.

Naomib: just around the corner from a famous gardener.
Judy:I was swooped near the Caltex Petrol Station. It was more of a warning than an attack. I walked backwards staring at the magpie and it didn't swoop again.
Fiona: I live in a street with a notorious swooping magpie. I began feeding the magpie couple when I heard that they recognise people and remember if people have been nice to them or not. It has worked spectacularly. First, he stopped swooping me and would not swoop people in the street if I went out and talked to them. Now, he still does his look-out duties and they both shoo off larger birds but they don’t swoop humans at all anymore. I buy pet mince from the local butcher and give them a little in the morning. They also patrol my garden eating grasshoppers and other bugs, in return. I know you are not supposed to feed native animals, but this is a great solution as the magpies are very friendly now, sing beautifully and no humans are planning to get rid of them. Better than not feeding them and having someone try to kill them.
Phil: Got swooped by an over protective magpie today at the corner of Birdwood Tce and Esher St Tarragindi. Probably the same one that swooped me last year. This is the only time of the year were I like the helmet laws.
Katrina: Lovedale Street, Wilston, just outside of St Alban's Early Learning Centre

David: Near the entrance to Somerset college. Swooped me once when I was riding up the hill (southbound). Another time I saw its shadow tracking me going down hill but I think I was past too quickly for it to bother swooping.
Oliver:I got swooped on Milton Road near the junction with Rathdonnell St (Milton/Toowong area).
Chris: Between the bikeway and Toombul Station. I’ve been dive bombed two weeks in a row by a magpie that raps you on the back of the helmet and then continues its attacks as you beat a retreat.-
Amanda: 20 Harans Street, Jamboree Heights. A magpie swooped me and then sat watching me until I moved on
Kieron: Cnr of Khancoban and Jingellic Drive Buderim Meadows. We have a park in our Street called Khancoban Park they are there every year, seem to be worse if you are on a pushbike, they always go for me. I love to ride, but this time of the year it is a bit hard to enjoy it, not knowing when you are going to hear the flapping of the wings right near your ears they sneek up on you.
All of Khancoban Drive from the park to the top end of the street which meets Jingellic Drive and they are on that corner as well
Margaret: The reservoir reserve on Woodbine St. The Gap.Magpie attacked myself and grandchildren swooping as he/she flew from tree to tree to follow us out of the area.
Hamish: Along the walking track on the south bank of Lake Currimundi. For the past couple of weeks I have been dive-bombed each time I have ridden my bike along the path. Peter: Cnr of University Way and Scholars Dve. Close to Chancellor College but has only swooped me while cycling but not walking
Col: Magpie hit me with his wings in the shoulder then did another cyclists travelling the other way.
Brooke: The magpie swooped a number of times covering an area of probably 30-40 metres. It only stopped once I'd started to run over the pedestrian footbridge which connects to Zillman Rd. The bird was right on the corner of these two streets, under a very tall tree.
Paul: Magpie was swooping at other birds within the area so I dismounted from bike and walked along fence line to avoid being swooped. Outside of number 76, opposite the Child Care Centre. Near the intersection with Lancaster Road.
Kate: Cnr of Springwood Road and Plateau Drive, Springwood (opposite La Senda Ct) On separate occasions, my mother and I have walked off Springwood Rd into Plateau Drive, and have been swooped on the corner.
Steph: There is a magpie nest in the big pine tree (two houses down from the intersection at Wynnum Rd). However I think the magpie's babies have grown as I see them around. They arent too much of a concern, but the native minors constantly make their nests in the very small trees that are on the footpath. Anyone walking on that side of the footpath (or even on the other side) will get constantly swooped. I was in my front yard when my husband got swooped! They are vicious little things! (however I dont blame them because where they have made their nest, if you're walking on the footpath you will come as close as a metre away from the nest). An umbrella is my guard!
Rachelle:Patrols a whole block and extremely aggressive. Swooped and pecked the helmet of my 7 year old daughter who was riding her bike. When she stopped it squared off with her and would have done more damage if we hadn't been there. This bird is on the Kedron Brook trail.
Dean: Between bikeway and Cracknell Rd…still aggressive on 7 November
