Gunung Jerai 1217m ASL KEDAH PEAK

Gunung Jerai Run Hike Run on 15 February 2011 with Andrew Left the house before 4am using Toyota KE30 n parked the car at Gunung Jerai Base carpark. Here you have a few options to go up. You can hike/walk/drive/bike/run up as this is normal tar road. But we did not follow this road. Instead we ran to Guar Chempedak town, at the first junction traffic light, turned left into Yan Kecil and Besar. We used Tanggar Kenari 1000 steps trail to hike up! The trail was very clear and shaded by the 100+ years old huge trees! The Peak - There is a hotel for you to stay overnight if you want to. Burger at the Regency Jerai "Puncak Kedah" restaurant was really tasty. You can clearly see the rice bowl of Kedah and Straights of Melaka from the Peak! We used the tar road to run down. If you're planning to run full marathon sub 3:30, this is one of the best place to train! Andrew ran 13Km (from the peak to the base carpark via tar road) in less than 1 hour..
