Terrie Lee Walker, 45. Shot and killed Oct. 17. Washington County sheriff's detectives arrested her husband, Robert Wendell Walker, 52, on Nov. 4 in connection with her death. Robert Walker told investigators that he shot his wife in self-defense in their home at the foot of Cooper Mountain, two miles west of Beaverton. Detectives say he froze her body, then cut it up and spent a week burning her remains in a barrel on his patio. Investigators discovered that the intense man with no apparent political ties had been given a pardon by President Reagan in 1981 for an attempted bank robbery and by Oregon Gov. Bob Straub in 1977 for two shoplifting convictions. Robert Walker was convicted and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison . He was found dead in his one-man cell at the Oregon State Penitentiary shortly after midnight Sept. 15, 2002. An autopsy determined he died of heart disease.
