Sheena Leigh Mendoza, 20. Fatally shot by her boyfriend on Nov. 29 at a Hillsboro hair salon where she worked as a stylist. Police say Curt Wayne Wise, 40, entered the salon in the 22000 Northwest Imbrie Drive, and walked past two other stylists to the break room in the back of the shop where Mendoza was seated at a table. The stylists told officers they heard loud voices but they could not make out what was said. A minute after Wise walked into the break room, the stylists heard multiple shots. At least one bullet pierced a wall and went into the adjacent Subway shop, grazing the shoulder of an employee. Police found Mendoza slumped over a table in the hair salon, injured from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He died at a Portland hospital on Dec. 1.
