Sharon Diane Chaparro, 44, and Preston Ray Russell, 36. Shot to death Sept. 29 in a murder-suicide carried out by Chaparro's ex-husband, Arthur Lloyd Chaparro, 47. Police say Arthur Chaparro chased Russell of Hillsboro through several residents' yards near Sharon Chaparro's home in the 18000 block of Southwest Mayjohn Court and shot him in the back numerous times in front of witnesses. He then forced his way into Sharon Chaparro's townhouse, shot her and then killed himself. The killings occurred nine days after Arthur Chaparro completed a domestic-violence diversion program.
