Ryshawn Lamar Bynum, 2. Pronounced dead July 31 at OHSU Hospital, a day after his father brought him limp and unresponsive to the emergency room. The boy had bruising on his brain caused by shaking or choking, a broken neck, ribs that were previously broken and whip marks on his legs, buttocks, back and chest. Issac Cortez Bynum, 27, of Beaverton told police he was giving his son a "helicopter ride" by swinging the boy by his ankle and wrist, lost his balance and dropped the toddler. Bynum was convicted of murder-by-abuse and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
