Phillip Wilson, 31. Shot in the head during a struggle at a Beaverton residence on April 18 and died two days later at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. His brother, Preston Wilson, 36, also suffered a gunshot wound to his finger during the incident. The brothers lived at the residence with 60-year-old Darrell Dean Laffoon, who faces a manslaughter charge. About 8:05 p.m., police responded to a residence in a trailer park in the 3700 block of Southwest 117th Avenue. Investigators determined that Laffoon had taken his handgun out in an attempt to stop a fight that started between the brothers. During a struggle, the gun fired and struck the men, police said. The gun was registered to Laffoon, who has a concealed weapons permit. Police said the men had been drinking together prior to the shooting.
