Maya Gramajo-Calderon, 2 months. The baby was unconscious and not breathing when paramedics responded to the family home in the 20500 block of Southwest Anna Court on May 26. She was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with closed-head injuries, a term used to describe a specific kind of traumatic brain injury. Doctors had the girl on life support in an effort to save her, but she died. The girl's father, Eber Eli Gramajo, was caring for the girl while her mother was at work. Frustrated by Maya's fussiness, Gramajo bashed her head against a hard surface --probably an oak armchair or a table, knocking her unconscious. Gramajo pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
