Jose Manuel Carvajal Ramirez, 35. Shot three times Jan. 9 in a parking lot at 301 S.W. Murray Blvd., just south of U.S. 26 in Cedar Hills. Daniel Lopez Romero, 29, shot Carvajal in a fight over drug money. The Washington County district attorney's office ruled the shooting self-defense and did not file charges against Lopez. Washington County sheriff's detectives tied Lopez to the Carvajal homicide after he was arrested on accusations of aggravated murder and kidnapping in a Portland shooting. Lopez and another man were convicted in that case; Lopez was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
