Ilona Malgorzata Njus, 31. Fatally shot Aug. 31 outside her Tigard apartment, 15199 S.W. Royalty Parkway, by her husband Jeffrey M. Njus, 34, who then fatally shot himself. Jeffrey Njus suffered from mental illness, according to police and Ilona Njus' friends. The couple had no history of domestic violence. Ilona Njus' mother, visiting from Poland, witnessed the shooting, police said. Officers who searched the apartment found the couple's 2-year-old daughter asleep and uninjured. The couple were separated, and Ilona Njus was living in the apartment with her daughter.
