Christina Ann Baldwin, 24. Died of a gunshot wound to the head Dec. 10 after the handgun her boyfriend was holding went off in their Riverwood Heights apartment, in the 12000 block of Southwest Fischer Road, King City. William Cody Brooker, 23, was charged with manslaughter. Brooker worked as the complex's apartment manager and spent much of that December evening drinking. Brooker brought out a handgun, pointing it at a visiting neighbor and himself. About 10 p.m. Baldwin walked toward him, asking him to put the gun down. He pointed it at her, and she asked him: "What are you going to do, shoot me?" Brooker did, through an eye, with a bullet entering her brain. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.10 five hours after the shooting. He pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter and unlawful use of a weapon and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
