The Accademia del Giglio is a language institute and so much more. Located in the heart of Renaissance Florence, it offers art courses in both English and Italian where students are introduced to basic drawing and painting techniques or given the opportunity to improve their artistic skills by studying traditional techniques such as oil, watercolor and fresco painting. In-depth workshops and seminars on specific techniques or subjects, such as sketchbook, portrait, landscape, sanguine and other classical methods are also held.
Italian language courses are small (maximum 7 students) and tailored to the learning requirements of each student. Intensive and one-on-one courses are also available. In addition to the cultural and language programs, students can take advantage of a variety of extra-curricular activities each week, including films, evenings out, visits to Florentine museums, and day trips to Tuscany’s most well-known medieval towns.
