This frigate was decommissioned on 29th October 1951 and transferred on loan under the Mutual Assistance Program to Thailand as HTMS Prasae.

The Thai Navy decommissioned her on 22nd June 2000, deciding to preserve the ship as a memorial at Sattahip Naval Base.

Then on 22nd December 2003 she was towed to the mouth of the Prasae River, where she now resides on landlocked display since 27th December 2003 as the HTMS Prasae Memorial.

Her original three US. 3”/50 guns were preserved by the Royal Thai Navy for spare parts, since these guns are still in use on some Thai ships, and were replaced by older Bofors 75/51 mm guns. A pair of single Bofors 40/60 mm AA guns were also removed, but 9 Oerlikon 20mm guns still remain.
