The
PNE Group (formerly known as Project North East) is a not-for-profit local enterprise agency that has been operating since 1980. Offering a range of services including face-to-face business advice, training & consultancy, PNE owns & manages low-cost incubator workspace in central Newcastle (Pink Lane/Westgate Road), the Ouseburn part of the city (Woods Pottery) & Design Works (Gateshead). The Pink Lane/Westgate Road block of buildings has been dubbed 'Silicon Alley' for its high concentration of digital, media & creative businesses over the years. This currently includes the PostOffice (weekly after work events for local developers/tech start-ups) & ignite100 (Europe's first £1m tech accelerator programme).
