Shawan Jabarin is the director of internationally recognized Palestinian human rights NGO Al-Haq, based in Ramallah in the West Bank.
The Israeli army has prohibited him from travelling outside the West Bank since March 2006. This restriction impedes his human rights advocacy work, as he is unable to represent his organization at conferences and meetings abroad.
