Management: The dairy herd—milkers and dry does—are pastured daily. Our growing conditions are such that, with good pasture management, pasture forage is available every day. Their fresh forage is supplemented by stored forage in the form of perennial peanut hay. The milking does receive a small amount of soy-free grain [under 1 pound per day, total] on the milk stand while being milked. Laying hens are on pasture daily, and are fed supplemental grain. All of our products—dairy and eggs—are labeled “not for human consumption,” in accord with Florida law and regulation, since they are not produced or packed in an approved facility.
