            What do you think of when you thinkof Germany? Do you think of the Berlin wall? Or the Brandenburg gate? Or evenfeeling the warmth in the cold months? Well those are all right! Germany can bea comforting home to fit anyone! So, if you want to see what I mean, then goahead!

Berlin, Germany is located on thecontinent of Europe.  The best way to getthere is by airplane.  You can fly fromDetroit, MI to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam to Berlin.  The entire flight takes 13 hours.

               Aroundthis time of year (March), Berlin has very nice weather with averages of 47degrees F.  But when summertime sweepsby, air takes a cool down with averages of 75 degrees in July. In March, youwould need to pack a light coat and sweatpants.  

The first place I would visit wouldbe the Berlin Wall.  The Berlin Wall wasa wall that separated East Germans from going to the West German side.  This wall was torn down in 1989.  

The second place I would visit would be theBrandenburg Gate.  The Brandenburg Gateis a special place where millions of Germans gather to celebrate this wonderfulday.  This holiday is called Unity Dayand was started in 1990.  This dayrepresents when East Germany and West Germany became one country again.   

The third place I would visit would be theReichstag Building.  This building iswhere Germany’s parliament meets to make laws. It is separated into two groups – the Bundestag and the Bundesrat.

               A factabout Berlin is its population is 3.5 million. Berlin is the biggest city in Germany and also the capital of thecountry.  Berlin’s heart of culture isart, with 153 art museums.  One of themost famous museums is the Gemaldegalerie which is a painting museum. 

An interesting fact about Berlin isthat in-line skating has become popular. Most big cities have “blade nights” that close the streets to cars, sopeople skate safely.  Berlin has so manyamazing things to do that I can’t wait to go there.
